Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field required.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive technology leadership experience, with at least five (5 ) years in a senior management role within higher education or a comparable environment.
  • Proven ability in strategic technology planning, governance, and execution aligned with institutional goals.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, data privacy regulations (FERPA, HIPAA, ADA), and compliance standards.
  • Expertise in enterprise systems, cloud technologies, and infrastructure management.
  • Familiarity with academic technologies, online learning platforms, and student information systems.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities, including the capacity to guide diverse teams, cultivate collaboration, and establish a high-performance culture.
  • Proficiency in budget development, resource allocation, and vendor negotiations.
  • Dedication to equity, inclusion, and student success within technology initiatives.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for driving innovation while maintaining operational stability.
  • Robust analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to engage faculty, staff, students, and external partners.
  • Ability to translate intricate technical concepts into clear, actionable information for non-technical audiences.
  • Experience representing the institution in professional organizations and consortia.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic IT Leadership & Governance (20%) Define and execute the college’s technology vision and roadmap aligned with institutional mission and strategic priorities. Establish technology governance frameworks to ensure transparency and accountability. Lead campus-wide technology initiatives and evaluate emerging technologies.
  • Cybersecurity, Data Privacy & Compliance (15%) Ensure protection of institutional data and compliance with FERPA, HIPAA, ADA, and other regulations. Direct cybersecurity programs, risk assessments, and disaster recovery planning. Oversee compliance reporting and audits.
  • Infrastructure & Operations Management (15%) Manage technology infrastructure and technology service delivery. Develop business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Academic & Administrative Technology Enablement (15%) Support integration of instructional technologies and online learning platforms. Collaborate with academic leadership to advance digital learning strategies. Implement integrated data management and reporting systems.
  • Budget, Resource & Talent Management (10%) Develop and manage technology budgets. Recruit, mentor, and retain technology staff. Build high-performing teams aligned with institutional values
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication (10%) Serve as liaison between technology and college leadership, faculty, staff, and students. Implement risk management practices. Represent the institution in professional organizations
  • Policy Development, Risk Management & Performance Metrics (5%) Develop and enforce technology policies and standards. Implement risk management practices. Establish and monitor KPIs for technology effectiveness.
  • Other Duties (5%) Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
