About The Position

Raritan Valley Community College is currently accepting applications for an Associate Vice President of Technology Services. The Associate Vice President is responsible for the overall management of the College's information technology systems and services. This responsibility includes long- and short-term strategic planning for the evaluation, acquisition, and deployment of information technology related software, equipment, and services. The Associate Vice President also provides supervision and leadership of the Technology Services division staff. The Associate Vice President is a member of the President's Executive Staff and is expected to provide critical leadership and strategic vision in a time of rapid change and disruption.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related IT field.
  • 7-10 years of experience managing diverse IT services in higher education.
  • Experience with cloud-based systems and remote access technologies.
  • Strong vendor management and contract negotiation skills.
  • Successful track record in software application implementation.
  • Demonstrated leadership, customer service orientation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic oversight experience in cybersecurity and institutional data protection.
  • Proficiency in IT planning, change management, and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to convey technical guidance clearly.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, make sound decisions under pressure, and manage multiple responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the Ellucian Banner ERP system, Ellucian: Ethos, ILP; Experience; Evisions systems; and CRMs
  • High level understanding of data standards.
  • Technical change management skills.
  • Knowledge of AI and AI applications in the higher education environment.
  • Entrepreneurial approach to provide innovative solutions for teaching and learning and for institutional efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic planning and implementation of academic and administrative technology systems aligned with the College's mission.
  • Manage Technology Services budgets and ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Supervise the division's leadership team, including managers and directors overseeing computing support, information systems, infrastructure, and multimedia services.
  • Ensure system integrity and protection against unauthorized access.
  • Collaborate with executive staff and divisional directors to develop and execute college-wide technology initiatives.
  • Coordinate with department heads and vendors for evaluation, acquisition, and support of IT software, equipment, and services.
  • Contribute to technology planning for new construction and renovations.
  • Represent the College through participation in committees, industry organizations, and conferences.
  • Maintain professional and technical competencies through ongoing training and engagement.
