About The Position

PPL is looking for a dynamic and experienced professional leader to guide our Talent, Equity and Culture at Project for Pride in Living (PPL) and help shape the future of our organization. The AVP will work in collaboration with the CPO, Human Resources, MFIP, and leaders across the organizations to set the vision and direction for attracting, engaging, developing and retaining vibrant personnel and embedding a talent-focused culture through the entire organization. This role will build upon the successes in our important work in Race Equity and continue to drive staff on their professional and personal Cultural Competency journey.

Requirements

  • 5 – 7 years’ professional experience in community outreach and engagement, including direct experience working with community organizations
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, social or human sciences, or an equivalent combination of training and experience related to the duties of this position
  • Commitment and demonstrated success in racial equity and disparity reduction and understanding of the needs of low-income communities we serve
  • Demonstrated understanding of the state, local and community environment (e.g. legislative leaders, partners, organizations, community service needs, major stakeholders, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Sets the strategic objectives for the Learning and Organizational Effectiveness within the organization and executes against goals and objectives
  • Develops and implements PPL’s Talent Development strategy, serving as architect and champion to help the organization achieve our strategic priorities around constructive culture, leader development, and internal capability
  • Develop, design, and conduct (as appropriate) learning & development modules available to PPL staff
  • Coach staff in areas of race equity, cultural competence, and cultural humility
  • Coordinate, plan, and manage agreements with internal and external experts to provide learning & development modules to PPL staff
  • Executes, in conjunction with the Chief People Officer, an integrated equity, belonging, and inclusion strategy within the organization with demonstrable measurable results
  • Enhance PPL’s base of cultural competence and capacity to improve its program impact with residents, participants, and youth
  • Partner with Senior Director of HR to support employee relations issues, policies, and practices.
  • Serves as one of the primary contacts to Hennepin County for MFIP programs
  • Supports the departmental strategic and annual planning, goal, and work plan development
  • Lead and support monthly financial reviews to ensure budget compliance and fiscal responsibility
  • Provide on-going support and guidance to program staff related to programs, culture, and team dynamics
  • Support the implementation of program innovation and delivery to meet goals and outcomes
  • This role supervises the Administration Team that supports Executive leaders, front desk, and building administration and operation
  • This role supervises the MFIP Team
