About The Position

Trillium Health Resources is a Tailored Plan and Managed Care Organization (MCO) serving 46 counties across North Carolina. We manage services for individuals with serious mental health needs, substance use disorders, traumatic brain injuries, and intellectual/development (IDD) disabilities. Trillium Health Resources has a career opening for Associate Vice President of Community Engagement to join our team! The Associate Vice President of Community Engagement is responsible for leading strategic engagement efforts with members, families, and key external stakeholders to ensure their voices are meaningfully integrated into organizational planning and service delivery. This role focuses on building trusted relationships with individuals and families navigating complex behavioral health and social needs, while also supporting and empowering member-led advisory bodies such as the Consumer and Family Advisory Committee (CFAC) and the Medicaid Advisory Committee (MAC), Long-Term Services and Supports – MAC, Innovations Waiver Advisory Committee (IWAC). The position plays a critical role in advancing Trillium Health Resources’ mission by promoting inclusive, person and family-centered engagement strategies that reflect the diverse needs of the populations served. This position supports the mission of Trillium Health Resources and acts in a matrixed relationship with the Regional Vice Presidents by cultivating, maintaining, and strengthening relationships with the of the above-mentioned groups, providers, and other influential stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three (3) years of experience working in complex community systems and facilitating stakeholder meetings of people with diverse backgrounds.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must reside within North Carolina
  • Must be able to travel within catchment as required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to engage members and families, with a focus on those navigating complex behavioral health, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and social needs.
  • Serve as a liaison and advocate for members and families, ensuring their perspectives inform organizational planning, service delivery, and quality improvement efforts.
  • Provide leadership and support to the Consumer and Family Advisory Committee (CFAC), the Medicaid Advisory Committee (MAC) Long-Term Services and Supports – MAC, Innovations Waiver Advisory Committee (IWAC), ensuring compliance with state requirements and alignment with Trillium’s strategic goals.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with county and state officials, community-based organizations, providers, and advocacy groups.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and updates for internal leadership, advisory committees, and external stakeholders.
