About The Position

We are looking for an Associate Technical Writer to join the Technical Publications department. This is a hybrid role based in San Jose, CA three days a week, or remote within the USA, reporting to the Senior Manager, Technical Publications. You will help deliver a growing portfolio of capabilities in threat prevention and business enablement by turning complex technical information into clear, effective documentation. Requirements

2+ years of experience in technical writing, supported by U.S citizenship
Bachelors degree in technical writing,communications, or a related field(i.e,technical writing/communications certifications are also acceptable)
Hands-on experience with JIRA and/or Confluence
Excellent oral, written, analytic, and organizational skills
Able to think and write in context with the target audience

Nice To Haves

Proven experience authoring online help and knowledge base articles for web-based or mobile products
Comfortable working in Agile environments with hands-on proficiency in HTML5/CSS
Prior experience in network or cloud security is highly desirable

Responsibilities

Translate technical information into clear, concise, and effective documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences
Deliver post-sales content for online documentation (i.e., help articles, release notes, etc.) as well as provide UI text (i.e., UI tooltips, labels, error messages, etc.) for use by our UX and Engineering teams
Integrate graphics and illustrations to improve the quality and usability of the documentation
Work cross-functionally with SMEs in the Engineering, Field Support, Sales, Training, and Product Marketing groups
Assist in defining standards, style, and terminology
