About The Position

The Associate/Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting the administration, maintenance, and improvement of the organization’s systems, infrastructure and networking environments. This role assists with server, virtualization, network, and remote site operations while following established standards and best practices. In addition to core infrastructure and networking responsibilities, the Associate/Systems Engineer supports operational initiatives and contributes to project implementation efforts across the Operations team. The role works under general guidance, collaborates with senior engineering staff, and ensures that changes are implemented in alignment with organizational standards.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • One to three years of experience in systems or network administration preferred
  • Experience supporting Windows Server environments and core infrastructure system
  • Foundational knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, and firewall
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, or equivalent
  • Understanding of basic security principles and infrastructure hardening practice
  • Ability to troubleshoot infrastructure and networking issues in a structured manner
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn, develop technical expertise and take on increasing responsibility
  • Demonstrated accountability, reliability and consistent work ethic in a team-orientation environment

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the administration and maintenance of servers, virtualization platforms, and core infrastructure systems
  • Support routine system maintenance activities including patching, upgrades, and monitoring
  • Participate in infrastructure lifecycle management, including hardware replacement and system upgrade
  • Assist with configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of network equipment including switches, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure
  • Support implementation of network changes and infrastructure improvements under the guidance of senior engineering staff
  • Manage and support networking and systems infrastructure at remote office location
  • Assist with deployment and maintenance of remote site connectivity and infrastructure equipment
  • Maintain infrastructure and network documentation, including diagrams and configuration record
  • Support backup systems, monitoring platforms, and operational tooling
  • Participate in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of infrastructure and networking issues
  • Assist with infrastructure-related project initiatives and system implementation
  • Collaborate with the senior engineering staff to follow established architectural standards and best practice
  • Work with the Operations team to ensure consistent and reliable infrastructure performance
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency
  • Provide technical support to internal IT teams as needed
  • Assist with related technical duties as organizational needs arise
