Position Description The Anoka County Attorney’s Office has an immediate opening for an Associate Systems Administrator who will perform various duties. The Associate Systems Administrator assists with installing, upgrading, monitoring and ensuring the reliability of computer systems, software, hardware and county servers. This is a full-time, exempt, on-site position. Interviews will take place the week of April 6, 2026, for those selected to move forward in the hiring process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field.
  • In lieu of the required education, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
  • Successfully pass a fingerprint-based criminal history background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience supporting a case management system.
  • Web-based case management applications, database structures and administration of case management applications.
  • Software life cycle testing including defect identification, test planning, test case creation and execution.
  • Skill in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to work effectively with the public, staff, and other agencies.
  • Work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with technology staff and subject matter experts to configure and modify the case management system to benefit all users.
  • Analyze each division's needs and requirements for systems used throughout the Anoka County Attorney's Office.
  • Act as a resource to staff and external partners by assisting with queries related to the case management system.
  • Apply systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine system functional needs specifications and efficient implementation.
  • Troubleshoot to resolve problems with the system and provide expertise regarding options available within case management for achieving business process needs.
  • Maintain, oversee, fix and update code table data and person/case data.
  • Assist with the design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing and modification of computer systems and programs, including prototypes, in accordance with user or system design specifications.
  • Develop, manage and implement testing strategy, plans and materials to ensure project deliverables are met.
  • Work cooperatively with project manager, developers and user testers to report anomalies and defects.
  • Monitor data integrity of case management system through analysis, identification and restoration.
  • Develop and conduct training sessions on case management system functionality and on other applications, software and hardware as needed.
  • Maintain efficient operation and availability of technology and automation systems for internal and external users.
  • Illustrate, explain, and assist in use of electronic resources including computer databases and the Internet, and provide technology assistance and instruction to users in the County Attorney’s Office and other agencies.
  • Assist with installing, configuring, and maintaining computer systems and associated peripheral equipment.
  • Respond to requests for service regarding system administration and assess the impact of issues which may require escalation.
  • Draft documentation of determined problems and resolutions taken.
  • Perform data analysis and utilize software to produce statistical reports.
  • Identify hardware and software malfunction or errors and contact vendors associated with the applicable products for contracted repair services.
  • Analyze operating efficiency and stability.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of all systems and data.
  • Report outages.
  • Assign document user privileges and permissions.
  • Assist with the triage of application administration activities such as creating, modifying, and deleting users, optimizing remote access, and security access for messaging systems, databases, and web applications.
  • Research improvement options for hardware and software, processes and technical documentation, back-up procedures, test plans, and reports.
  • Assist in developing effective data access and data security procedures in compliance with county standards.
