About The Position

Girl Scouts of the USA is seeking a bilingual (Spanish/English) Social Media and Content Associate to support the publishing, creation, and execution of high-performing content across national social media channels. This role is ideal for a highly organized and proactive creative storyteller, with strong instincts for what performs well on platforms like Instagram and TikTok.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated understanding of social media trends, platform culture, and emerging content formats across TikTok and Instagram.
  • Social media publishing and reporting platforms (Sprout Social or similar)
  • Video editing tools (CapCut, In-app tools or similar)
  • Graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
  • Familiarity with project management tools (Wrike, Monday or similar)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in corporate environment
  • 3-5 years of relevant, hands-on experience with social media content creation and management.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required
  • Strong prioritization, organization, and project management.
  • Strong writing, verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt tone for different platforms.
  • Strong understanding of short-form video platforms (Instagram reels, TikTok) and demonstrated experience filming and editing social-first content.

Responsibilities

  • Content Management and Publishing:
  • Route the content calendar for approvals. Secure necessary approvals and schedule content.
  • Publish and maintain the council stakeholder-facing SharePoint site of social media resources and assets.
  • Serve as a point of contact for influencer vetting in partnership with the Girl Scouts Communications team.
  • Manage and maintain a social media monitoring schedule.
  • Track designer creative requests.
  • Organize and maintain social video and asset library.
  • Support editorial and content brainstorm meetings, including scheduling, calendar management, and preparation.
  • Assist with community engagement, including comment moderation, response drafting, and identifying opportunities to drive conversation.
  • Stay on top of platform trends, algorithm changes, and emerging content formats. Present trends during Monday trend meetings.
  • Monitor social listening tools and identify relevant cultural or community conversations.
  • Content Creation:
  • Bring proactive content ideas to editorial meetings and contribute to social media campaign development.
  • Create engaging, on-brand social media content including short-form video, graphics, and captions.
  • Shoot and edit short-form video optimized for social media, primarily using iPhone and platform-native or lightweight editing tools.
  • Support on-site content captured at photoshoots or events. This is an occasional responsibility and may include travel.
  • Help manage talent, families, and youth participants during content capture opportunities.
  • Collaborate with brand, communications, cookie, program, and membership teams to align social media content with broader campaigns as assigned.
  • Reporting:
  • Analyze performance of social media content and incorporate insights into weekly team calendar meetings.
  • Assist with reporting requests as needed.
