In BioMedicine Design you will apply innovative discovery strategies to identify best in class biotherapeutics to improve the lives of patients worldwide. What You Will Achieve We are seeking an Associate Scientist within the BioMedicine Design department with demonstrated Biosensor instrument, automated liquid handling, and data analysis experience for characterizing biotherapeutics. The successful candidate will design and perform a wide variety of Biosensor assays to assess diverse biotherapeutic modalities and ensure the timely delivery and presentation of high-quality analytical data packages to project teams. The candidate should be able to simultaneously manage multiple projects to meet aggressive timelines and advance the BioMedicine Design portfolio. The candidate’s passion for discovery research, combined with collaboration skills, will be key drivers for identifying novel biotherapeutics that help patients around the globe. How You Will Achieve It Develop and apply Biosensor assays to triage early-stage hits, assist lead optimization, and candidate selection. Perform detailed analysis of biomolecular binding interaction data and provide comprehensive reports to BioMedicine Design project teams. Present Biosensor results to cross-functional project teams that impact research portfolio advancement.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Biochemistry, Biology, or related field, along with 0-2 years of relevant experience within an academic or industrial environment.
  • A demonstrated proficiency developing and executing protein-protein binding Biosensor assays, using Biacore SPR or Octet BLI instruments, to characterize biotherapeutic candidates.
  • Experience with liquid handling automation and high throughput screening methods.
  • Knowledge of the biotherapeutic drug discovery process.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and data management skills.
  • Ability to quickly adapt within a fast-paced, dynamic, and innovation driven scientific research environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Diverse experience within a drug discovery research environment developing and applying in-vitro assays to characterize biotherapeutic candidates.
  • Familiarity with Carterra or KinExA instruments and their applications.
  • Expertise with databases and automated data processing workflows.
