About The Position

Reporting to the Registrar, the Associate Registrar manages registration, academic scheduling, transfer credit articulation/reporting, and Veterans Benefits.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Student Personnel Services or related field.
  • Knowledge of the operations and management of a college/university records and registration office.
  • Understanding of academic scheduling and veterans benefits.
  • Ability to tactfully solve problems and work effectively in high-stress situations.
  • Effective organizational and oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to direct, lead and evaluate the work of others.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff and the general public.

Nice To Haves

  • At least two years of college-based managerial or supervisory experience, preferably in student services.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Professional experience with the Ellucian Banner or similar student information system.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the functions of all registration activities and supervises employees who handle customer service operations, veterans benefits and academic scheduling.
  • Coordinates with other campus units on functions and events related to registration (e.g., New Student Orientation and special population registrations).
  • Assumes responsibility for all administrative changes made to student schedules.
  • Sets up appropriate Banner forms for registration.
  • Analyzes and takes action on scheduling and registration-related reports.
  • Oversees academic scheduling, the special course registration system and transfer credit articulation/reporting.
  • Provides support and training to department chairs and academic schedulers in developing and updating the course schedule using Coursedog.
  • Works with the Assistant Registrar for Scheduling to ensure departments follow rules for course scheduling and special courses.
  • Helps monitor courses in Banner from the CourseDog Curriculum System.
  • Oversees maintenance of the Records and Registration website.
  • Contacts students withdrawing from the university and ensures withdrawal processes are followed.
  • Provides enrollment files to the National Student Clearinghouse (NSCL) and makes corrections as needed from the error report.
  • Assists Registrar with catalog updates.
  • Assists in reviewing student records for graduation.
  • Helps with grade changes.
  • Assists with Commencement and other events.
