Position Summary The Associate Project Manager (Entry-Level) supports the planning, coordination, and execution of capital improvement projects across a portfolio of multifamily properties. This role works closely with project managers, property managers, and contractors to deliver renovations and upgrades on time, within budget, and with minimal disruption to residents. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their construction or real estate career looking to grow into project management. Purpose Statement:The Ancillary and Facilities teams provide the structure and support that allow associates to deliver excellence with confidence and ensure that every community feels like home. We simplify Due Diligence, Transitions, Utilities, Facilities services and Capital Management and strengthen Vendor partnerships so associates feel supported, clients feel confident and residents feel at home.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of CAPEX projects such as interior unit turns, roofing, siding, and amenity upgrades
  • Knowledge of budgeting and cost tracking
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards
  • Knowledge of construction processes, materials, and sequencing in multifamily settings
  • Skilled in organization and time management with the ability to handle multiple projects
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); project management software is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings and scopes of work
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work collaboratively with property teams, vendors, and residents
  • Ability to demonstrate strong attention to detail with follow-through and effective problem-solving
  • Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year technical school. Experience may substitute for education
  • Two years of experience in construction, renovations, maintenance, or multifamily housing
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally between properties

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing capital improvement (CAPEX) projects including unit renovations, exterior upgrades, and common area improvements
  • Coordinate and oversee daily activities of contractors, vendors, and maintenance teams
  • Conduct routine site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance
  • Track project schedules and communicate updates, delays, or risks to leadership
  • Support budget tracking by reviewing invoices and monitoring project costs
  • Partner with property managers to ensure minimal disruption to residents during construction
  • Respond professionally to resident concerns related to renovation activities
  • Assist in developing scopes of work, collecting bids, and onboarding contractors
  • Perform punch walks and verify completion of work to quality standards
  • Maintain accurate and organized project documentation (contracts, permits, change orders, reports)
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and company policies on all job sites
  • Coordinate material deliveries and ensure proper job site organization
  • Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders on project status
  • Support project closeout, including final inspections and turnover
