About The Position

The University of Louisville Department of Surgery is seeking a board certified/eligible Critical Care physician for the Surgical ICU. Applications are invited for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Surgery, term track, Department of Surgery, at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. The successful candidate must have completed either general surgery or anesthesiology training at an ACGME accredited program and be board certified/eligible as well as have completed a fellowship in critical care. The ideal candidate would have experience in training fellows, residents and students in critical care. Applicants are expected to have a genuine interest and commitment to critically ill surgical patients including cardiothoracic, general, transplant, and vascular patients. Qualified candidates should be certified/eligible in either general surgery or anesthesiology. They should have successfully completed a critical care fellowship program and be eligible/certified in critical care. The University of Louisville is affiliated with various hospitals in the community and offers opportunity to develop a practice with a specialty emphasis as needed for research purposes. Specialty fellowship training and certification is required for this academic position. The candidate will have expert clinical skills and an interest in teaching and academic productivity in the appropriate clinical area. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Requirements
