The Associate Product Manager (AP M) is an entry-level, engineering-based role designed to develop future Product Managers and product-line owners within the E Business Unit. The primary objective of this role is to build a deep understanding of the market, customer applications, and product portfolio so the individual can assume ownership of a product line within approximately 12–24 months. This role is ideal for a technically strong engineer who wants to grow into full business ownership responsibility for a product portfolio. The Associate Product Manager will actively engage customers to gather Voice of Customer (VoC), support commercial strategy execution, and develop the operational and financial acumen required to lead a product line. About The Job: Market, Application & Product Expertise (Primary Focus) Develop deep knowledge of assigned relay product lines, customer applications, and markets. Learn competitive landscape, technology positioning, and differentiation for assigned products. Support product roadmap development and lifecycle management. Partner with Engineering and Operations to understand product design, cost drivers, and manufacturing constraints. Voice of Customer & Market Intelligence Actively engage customers, sales teams, and FAEs to gather Voice of Customer input. Conduct application reviews and customer visits to understand how products are used in real-world systems. Analyze customer feedback to identify gaps, enhancements, and growth opportunities. Translate VoC into product requirements and business recommendations. Pricing Strategy & Commercial Execution Execute and support product line pricing strategy in partnership with Sales and Pricing. Support quote strategy, deal structure, and discount analysis. Maintain pricing tools and assist with expired quote management. Analyze pricing realization, margin performance, and competitive positioning. Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) Support global forecasting and production planning processes. Maintain customer forecasts and support demand management activities. Assist with capacity planning and inventory strategy. Support prioritization of production based on demand and business objectives. Financial & Business Performance Support product line P&L analysis and margin improvement initiatives. Partner with Finance and Operations to identify cost-reduction opportunities. Monitor performance vs plan and help identify corrective actions. Reporting & Competitive Analysis Build reporting on product sales, margin, and demand trends. Conduct competitive benchmarking and market analysis. Support strategic planning exercises, including growth initiatives and product portfolio optimization.
