About The Position

As an Associate Principal Engineer, you will be an internally recognized expert in a critical technical area for the RDQ process development function within a cross-functional team. Your role involves identifying, defining, and solving complex technical and business problems by applying broad technical and in-depth knowledge. You will oversee the delivery of assigned programs, support new programs/platforms linked to business objectives, and leverage your technical expertise when interacting with senior management and global cross-functional teams to meet current and future business demands. You will technically support projects, guiding and influencing activities led by others to ensure the development of correct solutions, identification of breakthrough opportunities, and rigorous implementation of executable programs. Accountability for technical outcomes of process development activities, such as process design, specifications, scale-up, and commissioning, is key. You will also quantify technical risks, provide recommendations, and influence senior stakeholders in business decisions. As a leader, you will build internal and external technical connections, foster intellectual property for competitive advantage, manage an internal team of process developers, establish resource and budget needs, provide strategic leadership in your process technology area, and mentor and coach others to develop technical talent.

Requirements

  • Technical leadership in process development, including a leading process development team, ideally within fast-moving consumer goods environment
  • Applying strong technical leadership and expertise to set and deliver the business and functional agenda
  • Effectively influencing category leads (e.g. vice presidents) and cross-functional leaders (e.g. engineering, commercial)
  • Using critical thinking and thought leadership proactively to ensure solutions to complex issues are delivered
  • Working collaboratively in a fast-paced global commercial and technical environment
  • Coaching and mentoring others
  • Ensure that foundational skills/capabilities keep pace with technology advancements
  • Creating a culture of technical curiosity, learning and collaboration

Responsibilities

  • Identify, define and solve complex technical and business problems by applying broad technical and in-depth knowledge
  • Oversee the delivery of assigned programs
  • Support new programs/platforms linked to business objectives
  • Use expertise in your technical area when interacting with senior management and global cross-functional teams to help deliver on current and future demands of the business
  • Support technically focused projects
  • Use technical expertise to guide, direct and influence activities lead by others
  • Ensure the right solutions are developed, future breakthrough opportunities are identified, and executable programs are implemented with technical rigor
  • Be accountable for the technical outcomes of process developments activities (e.g. process design and specifications, process scale up, commissioning etc.)
  • Quantify the technical risks of your projects and those lead by others
  • Offer recommendations and conclusions and influence senior stakeholders when making business decisions
  • Develop and leverage connections internally and with the external technical partners
  • Create a culture that fosters intellectual properties to drive competitive advantage
  • Manage an internal team of process developers
  • Work with cross-functional partners to establish resource and budget needs to deliver the requirements in your business area of responsibility
  • Provide strategic leadership in your process technology area and/or process development program
  • Mentor and coach others to grow technical talent
