The department focuses on improving efficiency, decision‑making, and scalability across the full investment lifecycle, enabling teams to deliver greater impact under increasingly complex and resource‑constrained environments. COM works across functions to modernize policies and procedures, business processes, enhance data and analytics, support digital and system transformation, and promote proactive operations management practices. Through close collaboration with operational teams, the department helps translate strategy into practical solutions that improve delivery speed, quality, and risk management. In the context of IFC 2030 and Phoenix, a major transformational project in IFC aimed at modernizing partner management and transaction processing, IFC’s Operations Management Department is seeking to recruit an (Associate) Operations Officer to provide leadership in business transformation and change management, thereby delivering value for IFC Operations. The position will be based in Washington, DC, United States.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in business, public administration, organizational development, international development, or related field;.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in large-scale change/transformation programs, preferably in financial services, strategic management consulting, or complex global organizations.
  • Strong project management skills; ability to plan, prioritize, manage interdependencies, and deliver to tight timelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proven experience crafting executive-ready materials and role-based communications. Strong analytical skills, ability to define and track KPIs
  • Collaborative, inclusive, and culturally sensitive; able to influence without formal authority and build trust with senior leaders and frontline staff

Responsibilities

  • Translate IFC operations strategic direction into business transformation initiatives and pragmatic change plans with measurable adoption and value.
  • Strengthen organizational readiness by engaging stakeholders, mitigating change risks, and building an enduring change network.
  • Coordinate with the Phoenix Change Management Lead, the end-to-end change management strategy and implementation for Phoenix, ensuring timely, consistent, and sustainable adoption of new operating model elements, processes, and tools.
  • Map and identify key stakeholders across IFC; segment audiences and tailor engagement plans. Conduct readiness assessments and evaluate user impact,
  • Contribute to Business Process Improvement through data-driven analysis.
  • Establish and manage a cross-functional change champion network; provide toolkits, talking points, and enablement resources.
  • Develop core narratives that connect the “why” and “how” of change to IFC’s strategy and staff day-to-day work.
