The Opportunity As an Associate New Business Manager, you will interact with internal and external associates to manage a team that will facilitate the review and issuing of annuity policies. Leadership skills are crucial important in this role as well the ability to make quick decisions related to complex issues related to pending annuity policies. You will work with your team in a fast-paced environment as well as individually, including mentoring junior level associates. This position has a formal career progression plan in place.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of leadership experience.
  • Leadership skills are crucial important in this role as well the ability to make quick decisions related to complex issues related to pending annuity policies.
  • You will work with your team in a fast-paced environment as well as individually, including mentoring junior level associates.

Nice To Haves

  • 6 to 8 years of related experience in a similar line of business, or Associate degree in a field of study of business or finance related discipline.
  • As appropriate for line of business, insurance licensure and/or certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in designing, planning and implementing programs, policies and procedures for the New Business team.
  • Ensures employees have access to, are trained on and are using the most current department policies and procedures.
  • Maintains extensive knowledge of the department policies and procedures, the regulatory environment and understanding of the business and organization. Ensures appropriate application throughout task completion.
  • Assists in developing team objectives and ensuring performance targets are met or exceeded.
  • Acts as liaison for various internal/external departments.
  • May respond to Department of Insurance requests.
  • Acts as liaison to compliance department and maintains comprehensive knowledge of compliance requirements.
  • May coordinate activities with internal and/or external auditors.
  • Requests, generates, and analyzes management reports to track and assess unit performance, process flow, customer satisfaction and other metrics. Reviews findings with more senior management and determines appropriate actions.
  • Manages internal controls to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and quality of work. Works with higher management to make recommendations regarding improvements.
  • Responsible for performance and coaching of staff and make decisions regarding talent selection, development, and performance management.

  • Ensures new members of the team receive proper training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
