About The Position

We’re looking for an Associate Manager, New Verticals Strategy & Operations, Merchant Onboarding to shape the vision and execution of DoorDash’s merchant integration experience. In this role, you’ll help merchants connect their POS or Inventory management system seamlessly to the DoorDash marketplace. In this role, you will be responsible not only for operating and scaling SSIO, but also for defining how DoorDash transitions POS and inventory providers (Px) from legacy, manual onboarding flows into a unified, self-serve model. You will design the operating frameworks that allow us to support hybrid onboarding states, including providers that serve both NV and Rx, while ensuring consistent merchant experiences, clear internal ownership, and scalable systems. You will partner deeply with Product, Engineering, Sales, Merchant Ops, and external providers to determine when, how, and for whom self-serve onboarding is the right path—and how to operationalize that transition without disrupting merchants or internal teams. This role sits at the intersection of product strategy, platform operations, and execution, requiring strong judgment, systems thinking, and the ability to lead through ambiguity.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in consulting, strategy, product management, product operations, systems transformation, business analysis, or a related field
  • Bias for action and agility – you move quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment. No job is beneath you and you lead from the front.
  • Proven ability to create clear and efficiency processes in complex and ambiguous problem spaces, and you can articulate that vision to cross-functional partners (while also holding them accountable)
  • Proven ability to connect dots across technical & non-technical teams
  • Strong analytical skills and you enjoy solving problems quickly (experienced in SQL and/or Excel)
  • You are an owner, meaning you take responsibility for outcomes, have experience being in the driver’s seat, and want to shape the vision and direction of the company
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives—written, verbal, and visual
  • Strong business acumen—assessing risks, opportunities, and trade-offs to support short-term needs and long-term goals
  • A bachelors’ degree

Responsibilities

  • Develop and build the critical tools that our merchants need to integrate and partner with DooDash, and ultimately reach more customers
  • Have game-changing impact on our merchants’ integration experience with DoorDash
  • Strategize - From first principles, you’ll develop the optimal strategy for rolling out new integration experiences across POS providers. You’ll also strategize how to optimally roll out new tools and products to our ops team.
  • Own Product Operations for New Verticals Self-Serve Integration Onboarding (SSIO), partnering closely with Product and Engineering to support the product from MVP through scale and ensure operational readiness at launch and beyond
  • Define and drive the Integrated Onboarding strategy for New Verticals, spanning self-serve, hybrid, and manual onboarding flows, while balancing merchant experience, operational efficiency, and scalability
  • Lead the strategy and execution for scaling and transitioning POS and inventory providers (Px) from legacy onboarding flows to SSIO, including defining rollout phases, readiness criteria, and operational guardrails
  • Design and operate onboarding models that support providers and merchants in hybrid states, where automation and manual processes coexist during SSIO rollout
  • Translate complex product and technical requirements into clear operational workflows, internal tooling needs, and enablement plans across Sales, Merchant Ops, Support, and Integrations
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across Product, Engineering, Sales, Merchant Operations, Support, Analytics, and external provider teams to ensure successful onboarding launches and transitions
  • Define, track, and analyze key onboarding metrics such as time-to-activate, automation rates, provider coverage, and merchant success, and use insights to inform product and operational improvements
  • Identify gaps, edge cases, and failure modes in onboarding flows, and work with cross-functional partners to design scalable solutions that reduce manual effort and operational risk
