This position is responsible for managing the teams that handle the K-12 National School Lunch Program pricing agreements, direct to manufacturer RFPs, and distributor bid requests. This includes ensuring the timely and complete responses of over 300 direct bid contracts and managing the bid process flow from bid solicitation through bid entry into Forge for a total of 2400 bid agreements annually. This position is also responsible for managing the accuracy and currency with specialized documentation required by both Federal and State governments and unique to the commodity National School Lunch Program including but not limited to: Summary End Product Data Schedule - Document detailing the commodity characteristics of the items we produce; State Participation Agreements - Document that details our processing agreement with each state specifying Value Pass-Through Methods, Allocation, Carry Over, and Transfer Procedures. Collaborate with Margin Managers, Sales, and Marketing teams in a consultative capacity to discuss bid strategy. Implement Bid Strategies defined through bid strategy meetings. Frequent collaboration with Legal to verify that contract terms are agreeable and to stay current on Tyson Legal positions, and communicating with internal and external customers about the status of bids. This role supports the relationships with K12 Services and Interflex as they relate to bid documentation and our government compliance as it relates to the National School Lunch Program.
