In your role, you will work from the Billerica, MA Medtronic site. The Associate IT Technologist provides dedicated, hands-on onsite IT support for Manufacturing Operations at the Billerica site in Massachusetts, serving as production-critical support embedded within the manufacturing environment. This position is essential to protecting manufacturing uptime and throughput by rapidly triaging and resolving IT issues that could disrupt production. Responsibilities include supporting manufacturing-floor desktops, workstations, peripherals, label printers, and other production devices; installing, troubleshooting, and replacing manufacturing stations; and addressing network connectivity and user access issues impacting manufacturing systems. The role collaborates closely with manufacturing teams and IT partners to coordinate ticket resolution, deploy and maintain IT systems, document solutions, and continuously improve support processes, while maintaining a high level of customer service and operational awareness of manufacturing workflows. Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the onsite IT point of contact for manufacturing operations, providing hands-on, production-critical IT support to ensure uptime, security, and operational continuity.
  • Respond to and triage all IT incidents, from routine user issues to critical production outages, acting as first responder for on-site IT and network emergencies.
  • Deploy, support, and maintain manufacturing IT assets, including desktops, workstations, printers, label printers, software, and production-floor devices used in testing, training, and shipping.
  • Support and maintain computers and printers used across manufacturing, quality, training, testing, and logistics functions.
  • Manage facility-wide network connectivity by performing routine checks, troubleshooting irregularities, supporting infrastructure upgrades, and securing newly deployed network-enabled and monitoring devices.
  • Act as a liaison between manufacturing, engineering, corporate IT, and vendors to coordinate issue resolution, system deployments, and internal projects requiring IT support.
  • Track, manage, and lifecycle IT hardware and peripherals, including inventory control, decommissioning outdated equipment, printer maintenance, and procurement recommendations.
  • Develop, document, configure, and test system specifications, configurations, and updates in compliance with architecture, security, and regulatory standards.
  • Evaluate system performance and functionality, identify deficiencies, and implement improvements to maintain data integrity, compatibility, and effective system operation.
  • Assess platform capabilities versus customization needs, gather integration requirements, and contribute to optimized, accessible, and user-centered technology solutions.

  • This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
  • The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
  • Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
