Qualifications POSITION SUMMARY The FOIA/PA associate will respond to and perform administrative and research functions to process requests for information governed by the Freedom of Information Act and/or Privacy Act programs. Support the organization in its mission to help change lives through the power of work.

Requirements

  • Education Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Experience Minimum: 6 months to 1 year of experience utilizing general clerical skills including customer service and computer skills.
  • Analyze, evaluate situations, and develop alternatives for conflict resolution
  • Knowledge: Regulations/policies related to FOIA and PA.
  • Laws, DoD and AF publications related to FIOA and PA.
  • Records management and disposition schedule
  • Air Force structure and rank structure.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
  • For positions that require driving, must maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage, and be able to travel as needed if you drive your vehicle during company business.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: Familiarity with Air Force terminology and Instructions, Department of Defense (DoD) and Air Force forms, and Military Personnel Data System helpful.
  • Previous experience performing research, developing written responses to inquiries and working with policies and procedural manuals helpful.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, Research skills, Analytical, MS Office Suite, Diplomacy Training

Responsibilities

  • Process FOIA/PA requests for information received via telephone, fax, and email, to include, clarifying and analyzing requests; logging in cases, researching information, managing the outcomes of requests sent to other offices for response.
  • Scanning documents, drafting response letters for management approval, and closing requests in AF eFOIA computer system.
  • Respond to questions from internal and external customers regarding FOIA/PA processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Ensure sensitive information is not released, discussed, and/or reproduced without approval of the AFPC FOIA Manager.
  • Review AFPC owned publications, forms, messages, Privacy Impact Assessments, and System of Records Noticies to ensure compliance with FOIA/PA requirements.
  • Provide training and conduct annual Staff Assistance Visits (office inspections) to ensure compliance with FOIA and PA requirements.
  • Assist in preparing work progress reports for FOA leadership and Contracts Manager.
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting, assisting, and responding to questions and/or concerns in a positive, professional, and friendly manner.
