Requirements

• Knowledge of basic food safety, infection control and sanitation.
• Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, bend and kneel.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• Serve Safe training (may be required, depending on location).
• ISDOH certification of Food handler under Title 410 IAC 7-22 (may be required at some locations).
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of the CBORD system relative to job responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, plates, serves, and transports food and supplies to provide a high level of satisfaction for a diverse customer base.
• Responsible for quick, accurate, and courteous service, and resolution of customer concerns.
• Responsible for associated sanitation, cleaning, and infection control practices to ensure food safety.
• Operates a variety of food service and computer equipment.
• Prints, reviews, and verifies food and nutrition orders for accuracy and completeness.
• Stocks and maintains the nutrition pantry/room, ensuring supplies are well organized and readily available.
• Gathers and “shops” for food, beverages, and related supplies throughout the hospital to fulfill daily needs.
