Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience; public accounting and/or industry experience in the fintech/financial services industries.
  • BA/BS degree in finance, accounting, or related field from an accredited institution equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree.
  • Familiarity with maintaining books and records of a bank, exchange, hedge fund, or other financial institution
  • Strong analytical skills and working with large datasets in Excel
  • Flexibility to innovate and implement new procedures to improve processes and workflow
  • Intellectually curious self-starter, comfortable in ambiguity and a fast-paced environment
  • Strong appetite for problem solving in a high growth business
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Team player with a can-do attitude
  • Excellent communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • CPA preferred
  • Master of Science in Accountancy, or similar, preferred but not required
  • Experience working at public accounting firm is a plus
  • College degree with a competitive GPA and demonstrated math or analytical ability
  • Familiarity with Cryptocurrency
  • Basic experience with programming (ex. SQL, Python) and/or scripting

Responsibilities

  • Assist with month-end and quarter-end close process including cash reconciliation, trade reconciliation, and reporting and analysis of legal entity level results
  • Monitor and record activity across traditional and decentralized financial assets
  • Identify and analyze daily cash activity for various entity activities
  • Develop deep expertise in operations of Galaxy’s various trading business lines
  • Assist in intercompany eliminations and consolidation procedures
  • Work with counterparts in other departments to investigate reconciling items
  • Develop deep understanding finance operations in order to setup new business
  • Assist SEC reporting team in creating and maintaining Digital Asset related notes and disclosures and work with external auditors on supporting items
