The Associate Engineer will work with complex systems and equipment, while providing engineering and technical services to support our growing organization. We offer a unique and exciting opportunity to explore the best of both worlds, working both in the office and the field on a variety of interesting projects. Areas of expertise include designing new substations and infrastructure, analyzing systems and disruptions to service, working with transformers, engineering the electrical protection and control circuits that handles the flow of power, and dealing with acceptance testing of equipment, failures of equipment and analysis of system disturbances. This is a hybrid role. The first three months are fulltime in the office. Transmission Line Engineering Individual will take an active role in design and analysis of high voltage and extra high voltage electric transmission lines on the Eversource Energy Transmission System. The position is within the Eversource Transmission Line Engineering group; responsibilities include the development and preparation of drawings, specifications, reports and estimates for transmission capital project work, maintenance support and other analyses as needed. This effort will make extensive use of the PowerLine Systems software packages including PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole and TOWER; L-Pile; MFAD; EPRI EMF Workstation, MathCAD, AutoCAD and others. Individual will have interaction with Transmission System Planning, Siting & Permitting, Project Management, Real Estate and other functional areas within the Transmission Business. Some efforts will require cooperation with vendor resources, and as such, teamwork and communication skills are vital to this position. Individual will be involved with studies and may provide or support testimony with the Connecticut Siting Council, the Massachusetts Energy Facilities Siting Board and other regulatory agencies for national and regional energy policy.
