About The Position

Dime Community Bank ("Dime") is currently hiring for an Associate Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) Analyst at its Headquarters in Hauppauge, Long Island. The Associate Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) Analyst will assist the EDD Team in the administration of the high-risk customer EDD program, a part of Dime’s BSA/AML/OFAC program. The role will also perform additional due diligence and analysis as required for high-risk customers, and as otherwise directed by the KYC-EDD Program Manager. Salary commensurate with experience, ranging from $50,000 to $60,000 annually. The exact compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, education, training, licensure and certifications, and location. All applicants must attach a recent resume.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in the financial services (preferably banking) industry; prior BSA/AML experience not required.
  • General understanding of BSA/AML and OFAC laws, regulations, and guidance.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, convey, and implement requirements of pertinent laws and regulations essential.
  • Must exhibit the ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with other business units in a professional manner.
  • Strong transactional research, analytical, multitasking, and problem- solving skills required.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational, and follow-up skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite software, including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • CAMS certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform timely EDD reviews for higher risk customers in accordance with established procedures.
  • Assist with the on-boarding of higher risk customers such as foreign business, Non-Bank Financial Institutions and Charitable Organizations.
  • Conduct negative news searches on entities and beneficial owners.
  • Contact branches for additional information needed to explain activity that has been identified as potentially unusual or suspicious.
  • Identify and refer potentially suspicious activity for further investigation by grouping suspect transactions and gathering supporting documentation.
  • Complete investigations of potentially unusual or suspicious transactions by preparing and/or finalizing an investigation narrative and gathering supporting documentation in accordance with departmental guidelines.
  • Escalate investigations of potentially unusual or suspicious transactions to BSA Management by preparing a draft investigation narrative and gathering supporting documentation in accordance with departmental guidelines.
  • Handle other duties or special projects as assigned by BSA Management.
