As an Associate DSP Engineer, a typical day will include the following skills and duties: Required Knowledge/Skills Basic understanding of scientific programming with C, C++, or similar high-level language on UNIX/Linux Familiarity with development suites such as MATLAB, Python, for signal processing tasks Knowledge of wireless technology, digital/analog communications, or RF signals Participating in the process to derive requirements, conceptualize, define, design & prototype systems engineering solutions Understanding of unit testing, system testing, and regression testing Some exposure digitized signal transport over IP network architectures Able to conceptualize filter design and signal modulation and demodulation Exposure to DSP and FPGA programming Familiar with DSP techniques including FFTs, digital up and down conversion, decimation/interpolation, IQ demodulation, Z Transform, Digital Filters (FIR, IIR) Participate and contribute to discissions regarding algorithm design, analysis and architecture specification for DSP blocks of a digital front end for various radio architectures Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, (or a related engineering field degree) from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited program Active Secret or TS clearance and the ability to maintain clearances required, with the desire to upgrade with a polygraph

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of scientific programming with C, C++, or similar high-level language on UNIX/Linux
  • Familiarity with development suites such as MATLAB, Python, for signal processing tasks
  • Knowledge of wireless technology, digital/analog communications, or RF signals
  • Some exposure digitized signal transport over IP network architectures
  • Exposure to DSP and FPGA programming
  • Familiar with DSP techniques including FFTs, digital up and down conversion, decimation/interpolation, IQ demodulation, Z Transform, Digital Filters (FIR, IIR)
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, (or a related engineering field degree) from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited program
  • Active Secret or TS clearance and the ability to maintain clearances required, with the desire to upgrade with a polygraph
  • A candidate must be a US Citizen and will be able to obtain and maintain a Secret or TS clearance with ability to upgrade to TS/SCI with polygraph in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • A basic understanding of testing and debugging RF systems
  • Familiarity with standard classes of codes, including BCH, Reed-Solomon, Reed-Muller, Convolutional Codes, Turbo Codes, LDPCs, Polar Codes

Responsibilities

  • Participating in the process to derive requirements, conceptualize, define, design & prototype systems engineering solutions
  • Understanding of unit testing, system testing, and regression testing
