Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) seeks an Associate Director, Training to join Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS). CAPS provides a range of mental health services to help RISD students improve emotional, interpersonal, and academic functioning. The Associate Director of Training, CAPS provides input and makes recommendations for the effective and efficient administrative, clinical, consultative, and outreach functions of CAPS. This role provides consultation and oversight on sensitive, challenging, and more acute clinical cases, in consultation with the Director. The position provides urgent clinical services during regular hours of operation. The Associate Director attends administrative meetings, participates in relevant committees, and provides input and recommendations to enhance the general operational flow of clinical services. The role provides on call coverage, crisis intervention, psycho-educational programming, community liaison and referrals, data collection, assessment and evaluation, and reports as needed. The position serves as the Administrator-in-Charge when the Director and/or the Associate Director of Clinical Care is absent or unavailable. The Associate Director is responsible for responding to the mental health needs of RISD students. Under minimal guidance from the Director, this position is responsible for the clinical training for practicum students and interns from a variety of academic programs. This position provides a full range of culturally informed clinical and administrative services to support the psychological health of a culturally diverse and creative student body at RISD. The Associate Director delivers consultation and training to faculty and staff in the RISD community.
