The Office of Student Life and Leadership within the Division of Student Affairs is committed to providing support and fostering community engagement to empower students through involvement, leadership, and co-curricular learning opportunities to enhance their Titan Experience. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Associate Director, Student Life and Leadership (Administrator I). We are looking for a collaborative leader and experienced manager who is excited about empowering students, developing talented staff, and contributing to a campus culture where students can connect, grow, and lead. Under the general direction of the Director of Student Life and Leadership (SLL), the Associate Director of SLL oversees, directs, and supervises staff within the areas of Leadership Programs, Fraternity and Sorority Life, and Marketing and Communications. This position will be responsible for performance management, annual evaluations, and day-to-day supervision for these positions. The Associate Director guides the development, program implementation, risk management and assessment of large-scale SLL programming, fraternity and sorority life, marketing and communications, and leadership programs. The Associate Director of Student Life and Leadership plays a key role in shaping the vibrant student experience at CSUF. As part of the leadership team in the Office of Student Life and Leadership (SLL),this position helps guide the vision for student engagement while driving strategic initiatives that support leadership development, community building, and campus involvement. This role is both strategic and hands on—partnering in departmental planning, setting ambitious short-and long-term goals, and helping bring new ideas to life that energizes campus life. The Associate Director also leads a dynamic team overseeing Leadership Programs, Fraternity and Sorority Life, and Marketing and Communications, providing supervision and support to help staff thrive and innovate. The Associate Director assists with developing, implementing, and assessing the vision, purpose, aims, objectives, and strategies for department programs and services. Assist with designing and analyzing assessment outcomes to align with the University Strategic Plan. This position will be instrumental in establishing and maintaining partnerships with campus and community stakeholders. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Higher Education/Student Affairs, Student Development, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of professional work experience in campus activities, student organizations, fraternity and sorority life, campus programming, or a related field.
  • Experience with staff supervision and budget management.
  • Knowledge of higher education practices in student engagement.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in organization and leadership development.
  • Demonstrated skills in decision making, facilitation, mediation, collaboration, project management, and fiscal planning.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to recruit staff, create long term plans, and collaborate with university constituents.
  • A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment.
