About The Position

Under the general direction and supervision of the Administrative Director, Registration & Records, the Associate Director is responsible for the registration and records component of the student information system. Duties include: developing and distributing class schedules, organizing student registration activities, maintaining and processing student records, processing graduation requests, and coordinating graduation exercises. This full-time regular position serves as a member of the Enrollment Management team.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of and experience with post-secondary education legal requirements, standards, methods, policies, and procedures related to student registration and record-keeping functions. Includes knowledge of and the ability to organize and supervise student information systems specifically designed for student registration and records.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the operation of data processing equipment related to student registration and record-keeping functions, such as personal computers, printers.
  • Ability to think critically and problem solve.
  • Ability to develop, coordinate, communicate, and implement processes and procedures necessary to achieve a quality registration and records department.
  • Skills and abilities necessary to promote and maintain a positive environment and level of service for all those who interact with Registration and Records.
  • Ability to critically review policies and procedures. Provide recommendations for the improvement, implementation, and evaluation of registration and record-keeping operations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing, in person, and on the phone.
  • Ability to use basic computer skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds for short distances and move tables, chairs, and media equipment when necessary.
  • The individual must possess the above skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in a field of study related to education, business/business administration, public administration, social sciences, or other related student services areas.
  • Two (2) years of work experience in a secondary or post-secondary student services area.
  • An Associate's degree plus a total of four (4) years of work experience in a secondary or post-secondary student services area may substitute for the degree/experience requirement.
  • A Master's degree in a directly related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required three years of experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in education, business/business administration, public administration, social sciences, or other related student services areas.
  • Registrar or Assistant Registrar work experience.
  • Supervisory or Administrative work experience.

  • SCC BEN Dollars - Eligible Employees: Full-time status. Regular employees with an FTE of 0.75 or greater will be eligible for SCC Ben Dollars. All employees will be required to elect a health insurance option. If the cost of insurance coverage selected by an employee exceeds the SCC Ben Dollars available, all additional costs will be withheld from the employee's paycheck.
