JOB SUMMARY: The Director is responsible for the management of the operations of the Health Information Management functions and activities (i.e., clerical, chart completion, coding, release of information, transcription, outside microfilm vendor, etc.). Is responsible for implementing effective policies & procedures and monitoring the activities of the HIM areas to ensure that all processes are value added and performed in an error-free, quality fashion.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred or HS diploma with related experience.
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience preferred.
- One (1) year of management experience preferred.
- Current RHIA or RHIT required
- familiarity with psychiatric terminology and treatment modalities
