The Associate Director, Program Management will lead enterprise software programs and advance Agile project management practices across DS. You will play a pivotal part in integrating complex systems, ensuring seamless connectivity with hospital LIS environments, and championing strong cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with deep experience in Agile software development and medical device environments, responsible for shaping program vision, driving execution, and enabling continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 8–10 years of experience in complex product development environments, leading large-scale projects with demonstrated expertise in Agile software development, including 2+ years people management experience, with responsibility for guiding team performance and development.
  • Proven ability to lead strategic planning cycles and oversee Hands‑on experience with Synapsis or similar software platforms, with the ability to leverage tools to support product development and system integration.
  • Proven success managing software releases and cross‑platform integrations within regulated medical devices and life sciences industries.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, and supporting cost‑effective decision‑making.
  • Proven experience leading the development of instruments, digital products, or website solutions from concept through design, testing, and launch.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive execution in complex, cross‑functional environments, partnering with R&D, Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, and Field Service/FSR teams.
  • Experience working within regulated environments and ensuring compliance through effective collaboration with Engineering and Regulatory Affairs.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical and business information for diverse audiences and enable high‑quality decision‑making.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, driving collaboration, alignment, and accountability across diverse teams and cultures.
  • High learning agility, adaptability, and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Proven ability to effectively engage senior leadership and executive stakeholders to drive alignment and support strategic decisions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite tools Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams.

Responsibilities

  • Program Leadership & Strategy Develop and communicate a clear program vision aligned with strategic business objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver project plans, budgets, and schedules, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Champion Agile methodologies, fostering a culture of iterative development, continuous integration, and rapid delivery.
  • Drive program roadmap creation, visualizing dependencies and milestones across multiple projects.
  • Execution & Delivery Oversee product development and readiness reviews, ensuring compliance with GPDS and regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485).
  • Manage software releases, including planning, execution, and post-launch support across platforms.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, proactively escalating issues to leadership to protect scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Ensure rigorous launch preparedness and business phase gate reviews.
  • Team Leadership & Development Lead geographically distributed teams, promoting accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Mentor and provide feedback to team members, fostering professional growth and learning agility.
  • Resolve conflicts constructively, facilitating tough discussions and driving decisions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication Serve as the program champion to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication and alignment.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Customer Experience, and Finance to define requirements, monitor financial models, and ensure commercial rigor.
  • Budgeting & Reporting Prepare and manage multi-year program budgets, tracking spend and resource allocation across functions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of program status, risks, and action items to business and corporate stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement Drive ongoing process improvement initiatives, implementing best practices for Agile program management.
  • Evaluate market and commercial needs, challenging teams to ensure product quality, reliability, and customer acceptance.
