About The Position

The Associate Director of Talent (ADOT) serves as a strategic business partner and member of the Talent Team. Reporting to Chief Talent Officer (CTO), the ADOT will collaborate with the CTO to build a strong and inclusive culture and implement the organization’s strategic goals related to the employee value proposition, talent acquisition, benefits, learning and development, performance management, retention, and other talent related projects. The ADOT anticipates Joybound’s talent needs and designs processes, policies, programs, and systems that support Joybound’s mission and goals. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive Human Resources management experience, with demonstrated responsibility across various disciplines including; employee relations, benefits, learning and development, talent acquisition, and compensation
  • Exceptional personal and professional integrity, judgment, discretion, and confidentiality
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence, build consensus, and facilitate decision-making
  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, and instructional design skills for both virtual and in-person settings
  • Strong ability to analyze, interpret, and present people data (e.g., turnover, training participation, demographics, promotions)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, evolving environment
  • Strong knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse staff and community
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines
  • Strong strategic, analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills
  • Strong interviewing and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated success working with ATS/HRIS systems (Paycom preferred), reporting tools, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), and Zoom

  • Comfortable working in an environment that includes constant exposure to animals and animal allergens.
  • Push, pull, lift, and move moderately heavy objects up to 25 pounds.
  • Kneel, bend, stoop, squat, reach above and below shoulder level, grasp and turn objects, stand, and/or walk frequently and repetitively throughout each shift.
  • Sit for extended periods of time while using a computer.
  • Flex the neck upward and downward; twist the neck and the waist.
  • Attend events as needed, which may require driving an automobile.
  • Full-time exempt position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Occasional work from home option possible.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by action and example to advance a culture of positivity, professionalism, trust, transparency, empathy, and excellence at Joybound.
  • Support the design, documentation, and evolution of compensation programs, including compensation planning, benchmarking, and developing career ladders.
  • Lead and manage multiple HR and talent initiatives simultaneously using strong project management practices, including timelines, stakeholder coordination, and change management.
  • Partner with the CTO to enhance the performance management process, including 30-day feedback, 90-day reviews, and annual reviews.
  • Co-lead with the Facilities Manager the development of Joybound’s Green Team focused on internal sustainability initiatives
  • Lead the annual update of the Team Member Guide.
  • Working with the Talent Coordinator, ensure organizational adoption optimization, and data integrity of the Paycom HRIS.
  • Develop process maps, organizational charts, position descriptions, and SOPs to document and sustain process improvements.
  • Working with the Talent Coordinator, ensure relevant updates to the intranet site.
  • Provide data, dashboards, and reports as needed to inform decision-making.
  • Support the CTO on special projects and serve as back-up as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with the HR Coordinator to streamline workflows and serve as operational back-up.
  • Resolve employee questions and concerns in a timely, respectful, and transparent manner.

  • In partnership with the CTO, design, implement, and continuously improve a comprehensive learning and development strategy, leveraging best-in-class learning technologies, external resources, and internal expertise.
  • Design and facilitate online and in person Leading Joybound training program for people leaders.
  • Continuously improve Joybound’s exceptional onboarding experience for new employees, including new supervisor onboarding.
  • Oversee the management and evolution of the New Hire Orientation program, including co-leading weekly sessions with the HR Coordinator.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to lead and coordinate organization-wide workshops, trainings, and staff events.
  • Facilitate, measure, monitor, and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and use data and feedback to continuously refine content and delivery.
  • Manage the employee benefits experience and partner with the benefits broker to resolve employee questions and issues..
  • Co-lead the annual benefits renewal process with the CTO, supporting the design of an inclusive and competitive benefits offering.
  • Administer employee leave requests from start to finish and serve as a resource to employees throughout the leave process.
  • Oversee Workers’ Compensation claims, ensuring timely processing, coordination with adjusters and managers, and facilitating appropriate return-to-work accommodations.
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies that attract and retain top talent while strengthening Joybound’s employer brand.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements and develop inclusive recruiting strategies.
  • Develop supervisor talent acquisition and interview training and Paycom optimization to help attract and retain top talent.
  • Build and maintain community partnerships to cultivate a diverse and high-quality candidate pipeline.
  • Ensure end-to-end recruitment lifecycle efficiency, including job postings, applicant communication, offers, and requisition close-out.
