About The Position

Under the general guidance of the Executive Director, Institute on Public Safety and Social Justice (IPSSJ) the Associate Director is responsible for providing a broad range of support and supervision to Institute on Public Safety and Social Justice (IPSSJ). Including oversight of, financial and programmatic compliance, staff resources as well as research assistance. The associate director will also be principally responsible for sourcing, funding and managing reporting of funds.

Requirements

Masters degree required. Ph.D preferred in social science field.
At least 7 years experience working at a non-profit institution and at least three of the seven years in administration (including grants administration).
Extensive knowledge of finance management in higher education preferred
Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
Proactive and independent with ability to take initiative.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Effective time management skills with ability to meet competing deadlines.
Understanding of human resources principles, best practices, procedures, and relevant laws and regulations.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving acumen.
Proficient with a variety of technology platforms, and MS Office (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and to handle sensitive information.
Demonstrated understanding of carceral systems, including their structure, impact on individuals and communities, and implications for clinical, educational, or organizational practice
