About The Position

Spark Foundry's Talent team is seeking an Associate Director to drive people initiatives in support of the Central Region. The Associate Director will be responsible for helping to manage the day-to-day Talent function and drive programs and initiatives for employees across several locations. Not only will you work in lock step with our internal client teams; but you will also work with the broader Talent Team on initiatives to cultivate our unique culture and people practices. This role reports into our VP, Talent, and is based in our Chicago, IL office. This role will also be the direct manager of a Talent Coordinator.

Requirements

  • Experience/Skill: 5-7 Years in the Human Resources field in a similar role
  • The role will require a hybrid work schedule.
  • Education/Knowledge: University Degree or Community college diploma in Human Resources Management or equivalent industry experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work at all levels of the organization
  • Detail-orientated and highly motivated, self-starter, able to multi-task and work well under pressure
  • Willingness to go that extra mile to deliver high quality output
  • Great problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Knowledge of general HR practices, policies and pertinent legislation governing employment relations

Responsibilities

  • Deliver strategic Talent consulting to internal clients with a focus on strategic staff planning and development
  • Assess and determine the appropriate HR Strategy. We are constantly reassessing how we work and look for better/more efficient ways to support Spark Foundry.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of value-added Talent programs such as corporate social responsibility, leadership development programs and performance management
  • Oversee all performance management and employee relations matters / investigations with sensitivity and to minimize organizational risk
  • Build effective relationships and provide excellent client service by ensuring a positive employee experience
  • Help drive people initiatives focusing on retention, engagement, recognition and talent management
  • Educate and implement Reasonable Accommodation and Flexible Work Arrangements as appropriate
  • Talent Development: Train and answer questions for annual review process through Career Conversations
  • Partners with Shared Services to ensure operational execution
  • Collaborating with the Talent team, leadership and client teams to implement and support the people and culture strategies, initiatives and programs that effectively support the mission, vision, values, inclusivity, and corporate objectives of our Agency
  • Provide counseling and support on corporate policies and benefit programs
  • Advise and respond quickly to management needs regarding general Talent & HR issues
  • Work with an agile mindset. Projects and initiatives will move very fast, and often with incomplete information
