About The Position

The Associate Director for Finance provides strategic leadership and oversight for all budget and financial operations within the Office of Enrollment Management (EM). This position is responsible for the comprehensive management of financial reporting, budget development, forecasting, and analysis across EM Central, Undergraduate Admissions, Assessment & Technology, External Relations & Visit Experience, and Student Financial Aid. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management, the Associate Director for Finance partners closely with members of the EM leadership team to develop and execute the division’s financial and operational roadmap. The incumbent leads the day-to-day financial management of the office, including accounting operations, budget preparation and monitoring, forecasting, procurement, institutional financial aid oversight, compliance, and the establishment of strong internal controls. In addition, the incumbent will provide supervisory oversight of the HR functions for Enrollment Management. The Associate Director manages and approves all budget and finance processes for the division, ensuring alignment with university policies, regulatory requirements, and strategic enrollment goals. This role drives financial and operational efficiency to support EM’s mission and long-term sustainability. The position supervises a team of three direct reports, including one (1) Assistant Director of Human Resources and two (2) Business Managers, and collaborates extensively with the Office of the Provost and other central campus partners to ensure fiscal integrity, compliance, and effective resource stewardship. Physical Demands: This is a sedentary job. Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to lift and carry small parcels, packages, and other items, and to walk short distances.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.
  • Eight (8) years of professional finance or accounting experience.
  • Three (3) years of experience supervising or managing professional staff.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Skill in use of large-scale financial systems and related technological tools.
  • Skill in Microsoft Office products
  • Skill in oral and written communications.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced office, lead multiple projects and communicate accurately and professionally with campus customers and Enrollment Management leadership.
  • Candidates should exhibit high proficiency for task orientation coupled with excellent organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
