Your Impact In this role, you will act as a Subject Matter Expert in enterprise data governance, translating strategy into actionable, scalable solutions. You’ll help build and embed governance frameworks, empower data stewards, and ensure high-quality, compliant data that fuels analytics and AI initiatives.

Requirements

  • 8+ years’ experience in data governance, stewardship, or enterprise data management
  • Proven track record as a data governance SME in complex, matrixed environments
  • Strong experience driving adoption of governance frameworks and tools
  • Hands-on experience with tools like Informatica, Atlan, Alation, or similar
  • Expertise in data classification, metadata management, and regulatory compliance
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Experience mentoring teams and managing governance initiatives

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Informatica platforms (IDMC, CDGC, AXON, etc.)
  • Exposure to modern data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks)
  • Background in regulated industries (life sciences, biotech, etc.)
  • Knowledge of DOJ data security regulations
  • Certifications such as CDMP, DCAM, DGSP

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of enterprise data governance and stewardship in a federated model
  • Drive domain onboarding, training, and adoption of governance frameworks
  • Oversee key initiatives such as enterprise data classification aligned to regulatory standards
  • Implement and optimize data catalog & marketplace solutions for better data discovery
  • Design workflows for metadata management, glossary curation, and stewardship processes
  • Partner cross-functionally (Business, IT, Security, Legal, Compliance) to embed governance into daily operations
  • Influence stakeholders and drive adoption without direct authority
  • Monitor and report on KPIs, risks, and governance performance
  • Mentor team members and guide managed service providers
  • Explore AI-driven innovations to enhance governance processes
