Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred
Three to five years of progressive work experience in community impact, nonprofit program management, housing, economic mobility, or emergency management. Knowledge of social service delivery and the needs of low to moderate-income populations is essential.
Experience managing grant portfolios, monitoring funded programs, and ensuring compliance with funder requirements.
Proven ability to supervise staff, lead teams toward measurable outcomes, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, mission-driven organization.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
Strong oral and written communication skills, customer relations skills, creative problem-solving skills, good judgment, ability to understand budgets, critical thinking skills, and attention to detail.
Must be resourceful, reliable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently and thrive in a team environment.
Proficiency in written and spoken English is necessary.

Responsibilities

Lead development and execution of a results-based roadmap to achieve measurable economic mobility outcomes across Miami-Dade County, with direct focus on housing stability and affordability
Conduct research, community engagement, and needs assessments to develop policy briefs and thought leadership materials
Identify and analyze public policy issues; translate findings into actionable recommendations and advocacy positions
Cultivate and secure high-impact partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, and funders
Support the Center for Financial Stability (CFS) team with VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) coordination, including partner engagement, volunteer support, and program logistics as needed
Lead implementation of priority tactics within assigned impact area maps and oversee investment processes and grant monitoring
Manage a portfolio of funded agencies through site visits, data review, reporting, and technical assistance to strengthen partner capacity
Ensure investment decisions are grounded in data, equity, and organizational alignment
Serve as the organization's primary subject matter expert on housing stability, affordability, and homelessness prevention
Lead strategy development, funder engagement, and community coordination for the housing portfolio
Build and maintain relationships with housing agencies, developers, policymakers, and advocacy organizations
Lead and strengthen UWM's disaster preparedness and response infrastructure — an area of significant and growing organizational priority
Serve as primary liaison for ESF15 and VOAD, representing UWM in county-level emergency planning and response coordination
Develop and maintain preparedness plans, response protocols, and community coordination frameworks
Manage strategic partnerships with emergency management agencies and nonprofit organizations
Lead post-disaster recovery efforts, including resource coordination, needs assessment, and funder reporting
Staff and effectively engage assigned Impact Council volunteers as a knowledgeable resource and strategic thought partner
Facilitate productive council meetings aligned with organizational strategy
Maintain and grow relationships with public and private social service organizations on behalf of UWM
Represent UWM at community, civic, and committee meetings; stay current on policy trends affecting economic mobility and housing
Provide strategic support to UWM initiatives, including events, work plan development, and cross-functional collaboration
Directly supervise the Program Officer overseeing the Workforce Development portfolio
Foster a team culture of accountability, continuous learning, and high-impact execution
