As the Global Engineering Associate Director of Capital Planning Strategy, you'll collaborate with the GE Leadership Team and Finance Department to drive budget planning, capital prioritization, and funding governance for major global projects. Your mission? Align capital allocations with business needs and propel our growth journey forward! Accountabilities: In this dynamic role, you'll be at the forefront of budget forecasting and project prioritization. Your responsibilities will include: - Facilitating meetings with stakeholders globally to gather capital funding requests, validate content, develop prioritization recommendations, and present proposals at senior leadership reviews for an efficient annual budget cycle. - Leading data management to support capital budget prioritization analysis and scenario planning. - Managing capital budget approval alignment with Global Engineering project portfolios. - Overseeing client use of the capital demand planning database, including training development, tool enhancements, and user requirements. - Cultivating key finance relationships and providing guidance to deliver capital forecasts for decision-making in the Global Engineering and Operations capital portfolio. - Facilitating the capital funding review process for major projects in Operations and R&D. - Interpreting capital guidelines related to requests through the funding review process. - Identifying change initiatives and constructing implementation plans for performance improvement, risk reduction, and enhanced governance. Essential Skills/Experience: - More than 5 years project management or related experience - Biopharmaceutical or other process-based industry experience and knowledge - Bachelor's in Science, Engineering, or business-related discipline - Engineering project, construction, and/or capital management experience and knowledge required - Must be process-driven, proficient at multitasking, meticulous with details and able to work independently - Eagerness to accept and drive change including the ability to build consensus and influence mid-level to senior-level management within Global Engineering and partnering departments - High energy, passionate advocate of effective business processes and who embraces learning new skills - Ability to work in a matrixed organization within multiple project and management organizations to reach critical decisions and resolve ambiguous situations - Excellent interpersonal and communications (verbal and written) skills at all levels - Experience leveraging AI-powered tools (e.g., generative AI assistants, analytics platforms) to enhance productivity, decision-making, and workflow quality Desirable Skills/Experience: - MBA or graduate business degree - Demonstration of Lean methodologies for team management and problem solving - Experience with change management, business consulting, and/or client management - Fundamental knowledge in business management, accounting, and/or finance AstraZeneca offers an environment where innovation thrives.
