The Associate Dean of Residence Life, Housing and Student Wellbeing serves as the chief student housing officer providing leadership and visionary strategic planning. The inspirational leader ensures the department supports both University needs, academic mission, core values, and holistic student success and development within a thriving and dynamic living-learning residential program experience as well as provides leadership, direction and supervision to residential life, housing, Bulldogs CARE Center, Office of Community Standards, and wellbeing, health education outreach services staff and operations, inclusive of student Undergraduate, Greek Life, and Graduate and Family Housing. The Associate Dean will also partner with Woodbury Residence Life to ensure operational guidance, support, and systemwide integration. The thought partner is committed to inclusive excellence and builds collaborative partnerships with academic and non-academic departments to develop high quality and innovative residential student-focused co-curriculum and programs to reflect national best practices in residential education programs within liberal arts environments, anchoring student career and life skill development outcomes, and high impact practices. This includes partnerships with academic affairs via expansion of faculty and student engagement opportunities, and initiatives that support student success, wellbeing, development, retention, and engagement. The Associate Dean will provide supervisory oversight for professional staff members, graduate assistants, undergraduate student employees, undergraduate student leaders, along with staff training and development in support of the University’s educational objectives. Reporting to the Dean of Students and Belonging, the Associate Dean leads the campuswide Student Wellbeing Collaborative, inclusive of academic, departmental, Redlands community, San Bernardino County, and other offices to collaboratively integrate student wellbeing, adaptive skill and socio-emotional development, resources and programming while fostering a culture of care in alignment with the nine dimensions of wellness. They will also lead the establishment of the inaugural Bulldogs CARE Center to advance the centralization of student support and connection to community resources.
