Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Residence Life, Compliance, & Conduct, the Area Coordinator plays a key role in building community through thoughtful programming and initiatives that enrich the residential experience and support student development. The role calls for an educator at heart—someone who embraces a growth mindset and provides intentional leadership, supervision, and mentorship to a student crew of approximately 8–12 Resident Assistants and Senior Resident Assistants. This team is central to fostering a positive living‑learning environment and meeting the evolving needs of our residential students. Success in this role requires sound judgment, a steady presence in crisis situations, and a collaborative spirit when working with campus partners. A commitment to continuous improvement is essential, including the ability to gather and analyze data to inform practice and enhance the residential experience. The Area Coordinator will work closely with colleagues across Student Engagement, Academic Affairs, Enrollment Management, Athletics, Facilities, ITS (Information Technology Services) and Campus Safety to help create a supportive and student‑centered campus environment.
