About The Position

Arthrex is a global medical device company and leader in orthopedics medical education. With a corporate mission of Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better, Arthrex has pioneered the field of arthroscopy and develops more than 1,000 innovative products and procedures each year that support all aspects of orthopedics. Arthrex is actively searching for an Associate Corporate Counsel. The successful candidate will work alongside a department of expert orthopedic healthcare professionals, world class faculty, and product management. Main Objective: Responsible for protecting the organization's legal interests and maintaining its operations within the scope established by law.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited law school
  • 3 years' experience required as an attorney in corporate and transactional law within a law firm and/or in house setting
  • Must be admitted into and a member in good standing of a state bar
  • Advanced writing, comprehensive reading, communication and research skills required.
  • Electronic based legal research experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry preferred
  • Preferred candidates will have experience in buy-side contracting/global procurement at a Fortune 500 or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Provides advice and counsel to various internal functions and will draft, edit, negotiate, review and interpret complex commercial agreements spanning across all functions within the company, including, development agreements, manufacturing agreements, supply agreements, distribution agreements, software agreements, confidentiality agreements, consulting agreements, and service agreements.
  • Assist in the administration and resolution of legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships.
  • Assist with the management of the company's legal structure, including providing ongoing compliance with local legal requirements and best practices.
  • Manages the development and implementation of legal strategies relating to contracting activity.
  • Provides timely advice and counsel to senior management by advising the business on laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • May supervise legal support staff
  • Up to 10% of travel may be required.
