HFCO is seeking highly motivated recent or upcoming May 2026 graduates to join our full-service CPA and advisory firm as Associate Accountants in either Tax or Accounting & Assurance (A&A). Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or other relevant fields (GPA > 3.0)
  • Internship experience in public accounting (tax or audit) preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Basic understanding of GAAP and regulatory compliance
  • Reliable, dedicated, and effective team member
  • Professional, respectful client and associate interaction
  • Must be actively studying for the CPA exam

Responsibilities

  • Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and other tax returns
  • Conduct tax planning and research for clients
  • Stay current on tax laws and regulatory updates
  • Support Senior Tax Accountants, Managers, and Partners
  • Correspond with clients and supervisors on work status and inquiries
  • Assist with special projects and tax-related audits
  • Assist in planning and executing financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations
  • Perform substantive testing and analytical procedures
  • Support A&A teams in documenting findings and preparing reports
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and firm policies
  • Communicate with clients regarding progress and requests
  • Manage multiple client assignments and build client relationships
  • Provide accurate and detailed work products under strict deadlines
  • Collaborate with team members and contribute to process improvement initiatives
  • Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and internal control reviews
  • Uphold technical knowledge and pursue ongoing professional development
  • Other duties as assigned
