Join our team and let's continue making chocolate lovers happy! Russell Stover Chocolates is looking to hire an Associate Accountant! In this role, you will play a key role in the month end close process and in supporting Financial Reporting to Management. You will also handle Compliance Reporting with States and Counties and perform accounting duties for our Retail team. In this position, you will report to the Assistant Controller and you'll interact frequently with other members of Accounting/Finance positions such as AR Manager, AP Manager, Controller, and CFO.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar field of study

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with fixed assets and treasury process
  • Participation in accounting special projects
  • Completion of monthly closing procedures including monthly account reconciliations and journal entries
  • Annual filings for Licenses and Permits at Retail Stores and Factories
  • Providing support to 3rd Party Tax Firm for Sales, Use and Property Taxes
  • Providing support and involvement on external audit
  • Any other necessary duties as assigned
  • Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines during plant visits to support product quality and uphold food safety standards.
  • Complete and follow FSQA training and programs to comply with regulatory requirements, ensure consumer safety, and support the company's food safety and quality objectives.
  • Promptly report any observed or suspected issues that may impact food safety, quality, or compliance to the designated plant personnel, to support timely corrective actions and maintain compliance.
  • Actively contributes to the continuous improvement of the company's Food Safety Culture through engagement and actions aligned with your role.
