About The Position

An Associate, A&R & Client Development for Symphonic, is a hard working, organized, and sales oriented individual. You live and breathe the opportunity to bring in business and understand that you are selling an experience and company to any individual that is in front of you. This role will focus on expanding the client base of Symphonic through outreach efforts and relationship building and is subject to oversight on the performance of your efforts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience in business development.
  • Deep passion for emerging music.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Energetic and dynamic personality that enjoys human interaction and building relationships quickly. Positive attitude!
  • Professionalism and respect for others.
  • Ability to stay motivated and focused, even when tasks are repetitive.

Nice To Haves

  • Expert level user experience of Soundcloud, Spotify, and extensive knowledge of emerging playlists.
  • Experience searching for and finding excellent music!
  • Experience in HubSpot, Google’s G Suite (Docs, Sheets, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Music, Music Business, Business or related field

Responsibilities

  • Reach out / follow up to new client prospects whether assigned and/or from your own relationships.
  • Meet outreach expectations as specified by leadership.
  • Ensure the prospect has a positive interaction with our company, such that they do not feel any “hard sell” but rather a sincerely welcoming, friendly, and helpful initial outreach.
  • Work with colleagues to develop proposals specific to the client’s needs, concerns and objectives.
  • Upsell additional services to new client prospects or, assist in campaigns to offer services to clients who have not used services.
  • Ensure that all leads that are yet to be responsive are reached out to consistently.
  • Get on the phone and/or other communication means to discuss opportunities.
  • Track outreach efforts and results using marketing/Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and ensure correctness.
  • Categorize leads properly based on interactions and ensure that high priority leads are attended to or routed to managers for quick follow up.
  • Perform pipeline management on a frequent basis to ensure information is up to date and data correctness.
  • Work with other departments on key day to day initiatives
  • Work with team members to develop our story, plan approaches and tailor pitches, signing those clients interested in services.
  • Occasionally check in with clients to ensure their relationship with Symphonic is positive.
  • Provide feedback to Marketing and Product teams on potential enhancements based on client feedback.
  • Participate in strategy sessions and regular meetings as needed to provide feedback on customer experience, contribute to marketing plans and content generation.

  • Work with Research Coordinator(s) to find contact info and reach out to artists or their representatives, focusing on those with social media presence, a semi-established catalog and a limited presence with Symphonic partners.
  • Work with the Client Onboarding Specialist to ensure prompt creation of accounts.
  • Perform other tasks and/or initiatives relating to Client Acquisition and Client Development, as assigned.
