About The Position

The City of Las Vegas Youth Development and Social Initiatives is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant. This is an Hourly position in the Youth Development and Social Initiatives department. Supervision Received Receives general supervision from higher level supervisory or management staff. The purpose of this recruitment is to establish an eligible list for future openings. Provides general assistance to facility staff including all full-time employees, senior or lead hourly staff and program/class instructors. Duties include, but are not limited to, set-up and tear-down of events/programming, general clerical duties, and cleaning of areas within the facility or around the perimeter of the facility. Perform administrative duties including data collection and data entry, document preparation and maintaining records with a high level of confidentiality and accuracy. Customer service duties which include, but are not limited to, interacting with customers/participants in-person or over the phone and distributing promotional materials such as flyers and brochures. Monitoring duties which include, but are not limited to, monitoring or reporting inappropriate behavior of participants to full-time staff, inspecting the facility for safety concerns and reporting any concerns to full-time staff, reporting any accidents, incidents or injuries to full-time staff, and ensuring safe/proper use of facility equipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Formal and informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
  • Ability to perform under the lowest level of supervision.
  • Possession of Child & Adult First Aid/CPR/AED certificate is required within 90 days of date of hire, and maintenance thereafter.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years clerical experience preferred.
