About The Position

Reports to the Head Volleyball Coach and Director of Athletics. Assist the Head Volleyball Coach with various aspects of the varsity volleyball program; i.e., coaching, recruiting, scheduling, camps/clinics, and game/practice management and fundraising. The assistant volleyball coach will adhere to RMAC rules, regulations, and NCAA Division II bylaws. In addition, the assistant volleyball coach will represent MSU Denver in a positive manner and continue to uphold the program’s philosophies and the athletic department’s core values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience coaching Volleyball.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and experience with operations of a collegiate volleyball program
  • 2 years of experience coaching at the collegiate level

Responsibilities

  • Operations & logistics
  • Coaching – Assist head coach in coaching team
  • Recruiting
  • Fundraising and public relations
  • Program management
  • Game/Practice preparation/management
  • Supervision of student-athletes
  • Operations and logistics (travel coordinator, equipment coordinator, community service coordinator, secure line judges for home matches, coordinate pre-match practice times, oversee match promotions and special events, liaison with marketing and communications, and other related duties).
  • Assist with recruiting (maintaining database, in person recruiting, organize on campus visits).
  • On court training assistant.
  • Video coordinator (scouting, training, match, Volleymetrics).
  • Statistics coordinator (collect and distribute statistics to coaching staff and athletes as necessary).
  • Assist with academic coaching (meet regularly with student athletes and track their academic progress and advise).
  • Assist with directing for various fundraisers (RMR tournaments, camps, etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned.
