About The Position

As an Assistant Warehouse Manager, you will lead daily meetings with team leaders to review staff attendance, productivity, workload, and service levels. Your primary responsibilities include assigning and delegating duties, monitoring workflow, ensuring inventory accuracy, and communicating job and order progress to the Warehouse Manager and cross-functional departments. You will coach and develop employees in areas such as workflow execution, performance accountability, safety, and adherence to company policies and procedures. In our rapidly growing organization, processes continuously evolve. The Assistant Warehouse Manager plays a key role in examining, optimizing, and refining warehouse operations to improve efficiency, productivity, and service performance. This role supports maintaining a world-class warehouse environment focused on inventory accuracy, material supply reliability, compliance, and customer service excellence.The Assistant Warehouse Manager partners closely with the Warehouse Manager to support operational execution, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role provides leadership support and operational oversight as needed to ensure continuity of warehouse operations. Candidates must demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of warehouse operations and possess the leadership capability to support both daily execution and long-term operational strategy.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of management experience in a distribution center or similar environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading supervisors or team leads.
  • Strong SAP working knowledge and 5+ years of experience.
  • In-depth understanding of warehouse best practices, inventory control, and operational efficiency.
  • Knowledge of GMPs required.
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing financial and operational performance.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience coaching and developing others.
  • Strong project management, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of shipping WMS required.
  • Advanced knowledge of custom labeling systems.
  • Strong SAP working knowledge (5+ years preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Suites
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced warehouse environment with heavy equipment in motion.
  • Fully trained across all warehouse departments.

  • Industry experience in Dietary Supplement, Food, vitamins, etc. preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a world-class warehouse environment with superior inventory accuracy, material supply reliability, and customer service performance across Oak Ridge plant and corporate warehouse/DCs.
  • Lead daily production meetings to review staffing, attendance, workload, KPIs, and service levels.
  • Assign and delegate work to supervisors and team leaders to ensure efficient workflow and accountability.
  • Establish, monitor, and publish weekly performance metrics.
  • Ensure timely and accurate cycle count procedures.
  • Ensure strict adherence to FIFO and FEFO inventory rotation practices.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping and 5S standards across all warehouse locations (San Marcos and Vista).
  • Ensure timely removal of waste and recycling streams including trash, bales, drums, pallets, scrap metal, etc.
  • Coach, develop, and mentor supervisors, team leaders, and associates.
  • Administer disciplinary actions, including performance improvement plans and written warnings.
  • Partner with HR and staffing to support hiring, onboarding, workforce planning, and attendance management.
  • Conduct interviews alongside Warehouse Manager and HR.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as Warehouse Manager in their absence, assuming full operational and leadership responsibility.
  • Participate in development and execution of warehouse and supply chain strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Assist in monitoring and analyzing monthly P&L performance.
  • Identify operational constraints and recommend efficiency improvements.
  • Participate in vendor discussions, equipment evaluations, and capital planning initiatives.
  • Support contingency planning for staffing, inventory discrepancies, system malfunctions, and transportation disruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP, OSHA, and company safety programs.
  • Maintain and update warehouse SOPs in partnership with management.
  • Participate in preventative maintenance planning for warehouse equipment.
  • Collaborate with Production, QA/QC, Sales, Customer Service, and Supply Chain to ensure service alignment.
  • Support new product launches, labeling changes, and vendor requirements.
