The Assistant Warehouse Manager will play a key role by help oversee inventory, support field technician logistics, and ensure that tools, materials, and supplies are always available, properly stored, and efficiently distributed.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years management/supervisory experience
  • 4+ years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or inventory role (home service or construction industry preferred)
  • Must be willing and able to obtain forklift certification upon hire
  • Basic knowledge of tools, parts, and materials commonly used in trades (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.)
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Must pass a pre-employment DOT physical examination and maintain a valid DOT medical certificate in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds or more, on an occasional basis, in compliance with OSHA manual handling guidelines
  • Regularly required to perform physically demanding tasks, including working in confined spaces, kneeling, squatting, crawling, and bending
  • Must be able to climb stairs, access attics, and enter crawl spaces to perform job duties as required
  • Frequent exposure to extreme temperatures (both hot and cold), while working indoors and outdoors
  • Everyone is required to submit a pre-employment background check prior to start date

Responsibilities

  • Inventory & Materials Management
  • Streamline parts quoting and ordering to ensure field technicians have the exact components needed for every job
  • Assist with receiving, labeling, and organizing incoming materials and supplies
  • Master and maintain warehouse management software (WMS) to ensure real-time data accuracy across all stock levels
  • Proactively monitor inventory levels and lead regular cycle counts, collaborating with the Warehouse Manager to resolve discrepancies and prevent shortages
  • Warehouse Operations
  • Coordinate the daily loading and unloading of equipment, ensuring field crews are staged for success and depart on schedule
  • Ensure all tools and materials remain in peak condition through rigorous inspections for cleanliness, functionality, and safe storage
  • Take pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and professional warehouse environment that exceeds safety standards
  • Manage the return lifecycle for unused materials, damaged goods, and vendor warranties to maximize cost recovery and efficiency
  • Team & Communication
  • Conduct consistent 1-1s to keep communication open and ensure your team has the tools they need to succeed
  • Serve as a key partner to the Warehouse Manager in supervising and motivating warehouse staff and driver
  • Act as a central liaison between technicians, dispatchers, and management to streamline inventory flow and logistics
  • Spearhead the onboarding and training of new hires, ensuring mastery of operational procedures and a "safety-first" culture
  • Safety & Compliance
  • Champion daily safety protocols and procedures to keep operations running smoothly and accident-free
  • Actively monitor the floor for hazards or equipment issues, ensuring the Warehouse Manager is briefed on any required repairs or risks
  • Maintain a 100% compliant workplace by following OSHA guidelines and company-specific safety mandates
