The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill ( UNC ) is seeking a strategic and highly collaborative fundraising leader to serve as Assistant Vice Chancellor ( AVC ) of Development for Arts, Culture and Community Engagement. This is a pivotal leadership role for a bold, aspirational professional ready to shape the future of philanthropy across some of the University’s most dynamic and community-facing programs. Reporting to the Senior Associate Vice Chancellor, the AVC will provide strategic direction and drive ambitious philanthropic growth in close partnership with Chief Development Officers across key units including the Ackland Art Museum, Carolina Performing Arts, Morehead Planetarium, North Carolina Botanical Garden and others. The AVC will lead efforts spanning major fundraising initiatives, donor engagement and stewardship, brand elevation and compelling impact reporting. In addition, the AVC will serve as a critical connector across the University, collaborating with the Vice Provost for Arts and Culture, Unit Leaders and colleagues across University Development to secure philanthropic investment. Together, advancing a bold vision for arts, culture and community engagement that deepens impact and elevates UNC’s role as a cultural leader.
