About The Position

The Department of Theology at Loyola University Maryland invites applications for a Teaching Faculty with a primary specialization in Comparative Theology to begin in July 2026. This is a non-tenure-track position with a one-year renewable contract, and the prospect of a multi-year contract. Applicants should be familiar both with Christian theology and another religious tradition, including proficiency in relevant languages. The person hired for this position will be expected to teach four courses per semester, including Introduction to Christian Theology. Service within the department and/or university is expected. The Theology Department offers courses in the undergraduate core curriculum, the undergraduate Theology major and minor, and the Mater’s of Theological Studies. Faculty members also participate in the University-wide Honors Program, Peace and Justice Studies Minor, Catholic Studies Program, and Global Studies Major.
