About The Position

We are looking for a dependable, caring, and creative individual to join our morning team and support the flow of the day. This position begins shortly after the center opens and runs Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Responsibilities include welcoming children and families during morning drop-off, assisting teachers with classroom transitions and activities, preparing materials, and helping maintain a warm, safe, and organized environment throughout the morning. This individual may also be called to serve as the staff in charge when the Director is not on site. Schedule: Monday-Thursday: 7:30-12:30

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Candidates should be kind, dependable, and use good common sense when caring for children.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential, along with flexibility and a genuine love for children.
  • Must be able to serve as Staff in Charge when the Director is not on site.
  • Physical requirements include standing, bending, lifting up to 40 lbs, and actively supervising children safely.
  • Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in early childhood care or education preferred but not required.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred (training available if not current).
  • Committed to ongoing professional development and training in early childhood best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Staff in Charge during morning hours when the Director is not on site by answering questions, greeting families, supporting staff, and addressing situations professionally.
  • Welcome children and families during drop-off and assist with morning transitions and routines.
  • Supervise a classroom independently and assume Lead Teacher responsibilities when needed.
  • Support children's daily routines, ensuring safety, consistency, and a positive start to the day.
  • Provide direct care, including breakfast assistance, helping with bathroom needs, and light cleaning or setup tasks.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment in classrooms, common areas, and playgrounds.
  • Use positive guidance, encouragement, and clear expectations to support social-emotional development.
  • Follow all health, safety, and licensing regulations and adhere to center policies.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, families, and children.
  • Be dependable, flexible, and punctual, following assigned schedules and responsibilities.
  • Perform other tasks as needed to support the smooth operation of the center.
